“Inoncencia” y “Contra pandemia”. An approach to the most recent of the work of Jesús Carrete by Yamir Macías.

The female figure is a constant presence in the work of J. Carrete. Sometimes seductive, mystical, angel and devil, the owner of transformations or roles, which the creator presents to us. With artist glances, he immerses hisself in the soul and feminine thought, contrasted in the use of blues, oranges, ocher or shades of gray, masking the most sensual feelings, secrets, dreams of women.

The circle is the most recurrent figure, as an ever-eternal trajectory of feminine mysteries, in traits that owe to the classics of Cuban avant-garde, in search of a formal synthesis of ethnic, religious, ethical and loving syncretism with which any cuban woman can be seen. “She is not one”, this excellent engraver tells us there are many and at the same time one woman, the woman muse and companion. They are images that accompany him, it is a permanent commitment of his service to understand, to please creation and to life itself as well as to women.
